Just a brief info about this place, the Cemetery Gates are open from 9am to 5pm. Make no mistake about it folks, the guards here were really strict on implementing the house rules, specially the operating hours, which turns our normal shooting plan into a 30-minute photo walk challenge. How? Here’s the story (really boring and nonsense but I’ll say it anyway)…

We’ve took a cab ride from Ayala MRT Station (just to assure our destination since we don’t know how to get here) and tell Manong (the cool driver of the cab that plays a Bon Jovi track) that we need to get here to this beautiful, peaceful place for shooting. Good thing he knows this place so everything is smooth and easy for us.

We’ve arrived here at exactly 4:30 pm, relaxed and quite lazy. Upon entering the Cemetery Gates (my favorite cut from Pantera), Manong, who wears a cool, black sunglasses (who’s also one of the Security Guards of this place) approach us and handed out a laminated yellow paper which states the rules and regulations/ do’s and dont’s of the cemetery. So cutting the crap out, it’s clearly stated in the paper (which is also displayed at the gates which we didn’t notice)  that the regular operating hours is from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. – end of story!

So enough with the chit chat, here are some of the shots that I’ve come up within 30 minutes; and let me tell you, it ain’t easy shooting under time pressure. Hope you guys like this one. Check this out!

Panagbenga Baguio Flower Festival 2011 Photos

To give you a little info about this event…
Panagbenga is a month-long annual flower festival celebrated in Baguio which literally means “season of blooming”. The festival includes floats and street dancing presented by dancers of all ages with flower-decorated costumes. Sounds interesting? Yes it is, makes you wanna go shoot and capture every detail of it.

So as far as shooting is concerned, let me give you some tips for you to avoid the hassles when shooting. (Just like what we’ve experienced)

1. You should have a Panagbenga ID to gain access in restricted areas/ spots upon taking pictures.
2. If you don’t have the ID, then you should wake up early, as early as 5am just to have a nice and clear spot.

So in spite of being rejected from the ideal shooting area, here are some of my photos taken on this event. Check this out!

According to the web, there is no standard, universally accepted definition of Abstract Photography. However, to put the limits regarding this topic, here’s the 2 statements that we may use to define this section.

* Abstract photos does not represent the subject in a literal way.
* Communicates primarily through form, color, and curves rather than image detail.

Brief description:
Monochrome describes your subject in one color or shades of one color. Monochrome images in neutral colors are called gray-scale or black-and-white.

Black and White color combos are something that we rarely see around. Some people didn’t appreciate the art and beauty of it coz of it’s dull and pale illustration, but as for Shot n’ Roll, the simplicity brought by monochrome is beautifully undeniable.
