To give you a little info ’bout this place, entrance costs P150 bucks, compared to Oceanarium which costs P400 bucks. So if you avail their Moonlight Adventure Package (your entrance for both Ocean Park and Maiden of the Sea, costs P500), it would cost you a total of P650 bucks.

Reasonable price? Yes!

What you’ll get on 150 bucks? Jellies and Rhythms!

And yeah, they got the moves!

This place is not for your eyes only, but also in your ears coz of the music. So if  you’re looking for a unique museum to visit, count this one in.  And to give you an info ’bout the music being played in this place, it’s all instrumental.

But if they will play heavy metal tracks like Pantera or Iron Maiden here, I’ll be gladly to pay the entrance fee even it would cost 500 bucks! \m/

Ladies and Gents, welcome to the next chapter of my Bonded by Blog photo compilation as we celebrate 1 whole month of Shot n’ Roll Anniversary. Welcome to the Chapter 4: Metamorphosis.

Metamorphosis – a biological process by which an animal physically develops after birth or hatching, involving a conspicuous and relatively abrupt change in the animal’s body structure through cell growth and differentiation. One word that best describes this? Transformation.

Just adding a little disclaimer, the shots here were not taken using macro lens coz I didn’t have one. Hence, I just used my good old buddy kit lens and adopt the macro style shots as closest as possible. So technically and professionally, if it’s a mistake to use the term “macro” here, my bad, my apologize.

Anyway,  without the ifs and buts, without further ado, I now present you the chapter of transformation. Witness the complete transformation of these insects to a beautiful, eye-catchin’ subjects. Check this out! \m/

There’s always a debate about what or who comes first. (The egg or the chicken) Well my answer is simple. Mating comes first! Hehehe!  This should be the beginning of every life cycle before the female carries an egg. But scientifically in this case, the Egg is the first stage in the butterfly and moth life cycle.

Here’s how it goes man. The complete Metamorphosis of a Butterfly.

The larva hatches from the egg. Butterfly and moth larvae are usually called Caterpillars. Caterpillars spend most of their time eating. Butterflies and moths do all of their growing when they’re caterpillars, and food gives them the energy and body-building materials they need. A caterpillar’s exoskeleton can’t stretch or grow, so the caterpillar sheds its skin, or molts, several times as it grows.

When a caterpillar has finished growing, it forms a Pupa. From the outside, the pupa looks as if it’s resting. But inside, every part of the caterpillar is changing. Most of its organs and other body parts dissolve and re-form into the organs, tissues, limbs and wings of the adult. Butterfly pupae are called chrysalises. Many moth caterpillars spin cocoons and form pupae inside them.

When the pupa has finished changing, it molts one last time and emerges as an adult Butterfly or Moth. The adult emerges with its wings folded up against its body. The butterfly or moth pumps blood into the wings to expand them. The adult is the stage when butterflies and moths mate and reproduce. Females lay their eggs on plants or other surfaces, and the cycle starts all over again.

As the transformation completes, these colorful flying insects will definitely catch every lens attention. Check this out!

Cockroach – (or simply “roaches”) is the most famous bug of all time. Also a high flier and an egg carrier, these insects are considered the most unfriendly crawlers at home.

Nymphs hatch from egg cases that the adult female cockroach deposits. As the nymph grows, it sheds its “skin” or exoskeleton so it can get larger. The Philippine Tarsier (Tarsius syrichta), known locally as the Maumag in Cebuano/Visayan and Mamag in Luzon, is an endangered species endemic to the Philippines.

Bohol Tarsiers are considered as one the worlds smallest primate coz it’s approximately measures 4-5 inches only. These endangered species has a tail longer than its body. They have a bat-like ears, long finger-like claws and electrifying rounded eyes which symbolizes their kind.

Now to give you folks a little recap ’bout this, I heART Makati is one big photography event held at the gardens of Ayala Triangle. Consisting of different types of photo contest, this event also have photography workshops discussed by the top leading professional photographers of our country like Mr. John Chua. (Not to mention the food and drinks for free \m/)

What’s cool ’bout this event is that, they bring out some interesting subjects to shoot from, aside from the beautiful tall buildings and structures of Ayala. Portraits, landscapes, architectures, animals? Name your expertise coz they’ve got all of the subjects that you needed.

Allow me to give you an aqua ride to the Pit of Fish inside the Hydro Cells of Manila Ocean Park! This state of the art, Oceanarium of the century is located behind the Quirino Grandstand Luneta, Manila. Just make sure to avail their Moonlight Adventure Package (your entrance for both Ocean Park and Maiden of the Sea) for only 500 bucks. Trust me, you get a lot than what you’ve paid for!

As for the state of the art hydro cells that I’ve been talkin’ to, check this stretched fish out!

Some of the glass used in the Aquariums and Oceanarium were more like a lens, giving you a 3D like effect, shallow and deeper view from your feet! Not a shooting friendly environment for a Shot n’ Roller like me. Hehehe!

Since I know nothing about fish and I’m too lazy to search about it, I’ll just give you the names on their Scientific Shot n’ Roll version. \m/

Long legged freak! Yeah! This sea dominating crab lurks behind the boulders, waiting for a poor victim! Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this one is called Spider Crab. Good thing this is not the one who bitten Spiderman, or else he will be called Spider Crab Man. Yeah, it sucks!

Longhorn Cowfish! I think it simply symbolizes this one. ( \m/ )

Holy cow and holy fish! This box type fish with white spots and kissable mouth is called Cowfish because of his horns that is more likely like a bull. That’s a fact!

But on the other hand, which is the Shot n’ Roll version, I’ll gonna call this one Smackdown Fish! Why? Coz of their mouth which is always ready for love, and metal horns for ass-kickin’ other bully and bad-ass fish on the cell! Stingray! One of the popular names in the sea world! This sea creature, animal and monster is stunningly beautiful on the way he swims. He’s like a butterfly on the ocean, a rose in your garden, and a poisonous thorn behind the beauty of every flower.

I’ve been listening once again to the good old Metalli-Thrashin’ days of Metallica. Oldskool rules and kick’s ass! If your a Metalliholic like me, you’ll definitely notice their changed style of music in their previously released albums and/or EPs (Some Kind of Monster, Death Magnetic). I don’t know if their new bassist or  new trend changed them, needless to say, they continue to headbang the metal scene and rock the charts. At this point they still prove that Metallica is Metallica! Alive n’ Kickin just like the good old garage days! \m/

I’ve titled this one The Memory Remains coz this is the insect that remains in your memories, especially if you have Entomophobia (also known as insectophobia). Anytime, anywhere, no matter what you’re doing, this high flying insects have the power to stop whatever you’re doing!
