Events and Photojournalism…
Ladies and Gents, welcome to another session as were down to the last three chapters of my Bonded by Blog photo compilation, in celebration of Shot n’ Roll Anniversary. Welcome to the Chapter 3: Captured Events.
Chapter 3: Captured Events is about another genre of photography which is more serious and straight edge. The kind of photography which I consider as one of the difficult shots to achieve, coz every single shot that you take should be meaningful and tells a story. The kind of shots you’ll see in newspapers. To give you a little background on what Photojournalism is all about, check this out!
According to the dudes of Wiki…
Photojournalism is a particular form of journalism that creates images in order to tell a news story. It is distinguished from other close branches of photography (such as documentary photography, social documentary photography, street photography or celebrity photography) by the qualities of:
* Timeliness — the images have meaning in the context of a recently published record of events.
* Objectivity — the situation implied by the images is a fair and accurate representation of the events they depict in both content and tone.
* Narrative — the images combine with other news elements to make facts relatable to the viewer or reader on a cultural level.
So with regards to this subject matter, I present to you some of my captured events in a Photojournalism style as close as possible. I know most of my shots here sucks but I’ll show it anyway hehehe!
Cory Aquino’s Funeral Procession at Ayala, Makati
Tie a yellow ribbon round the streets of Makati. Here’s what you will notice when you pass by Ayala Avenue.
Tying a yellow ribbon serves as a gesture of support to the our late great former President of the Philippines Ms. Corazon Aquino.

Penitensya, Penance, Holy Week Tradition in the Philippines
Warning: Some images you might find here contains gore and somehow disturbing. Please don’t open or exit this page if your sensitive.
The word Penance derives from Old French and Latin poenitentia, meaning repentance, the desire to be forgiven. But traditionally, Penance has been viewed as a punishment and varying with the character with the offenses committed. Doing this often involved severe, often public, discipline, which could be both harsh and humiliating but was considered spiritual act.
Penitensya, the Filipino term for Penance, is a tradition being held by the Filipinos during Holy Week, specially on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.
