Pahiyas Festival is a colorful feast celebrated every 15th of May by the people of Lucban, Quezon in honor of San Isidro Labrador. It is the farmers’ thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest with a grand display of colorful rice wafers, fruits, vegetables, and handicrafts adorning every house in the town.

Do you smell what this fest is cookin’? I tell you a secret… These are the ingredients used in cooking a good, unique, colorful, artistic designs in this festival.

1. Masks

2. Mannequins and Dummies

The pinoy version of mannequin. A scarecrow like farmer but this is a friendly one. A welcome dummy that gives smile to a lot of visitors.

3. Vegetables

Vegetables are not only used in cooking, but in decorations also. Green, Red and Yellow. I guess this is where the Power Rangers got their color coding.

Cherry and Bull’s Eye! Correct me if I’m wrong, but those thing that frames the subject is called Palusot. The towns local version of Pilipit.

I’m sure your wonderin’ what the heck is Kiping that I’m saying. Kiping is Lucban’s unique popular art. A thin  paper-like leaves made of rice that comes with different colors. Can I eat this one? Hell Yeah! I’ve already eat one of those and it’s good! \m/

9. Colors

Colors… Yeah this one has it! A fan with a color wheel consisting of Primary colors. Coooooool!
